Obituary for Norma Jean Burrows

Norma Jean Burrows
Norma Jean Burrows (Norma), age 88 of Houston Texas passed away on September 21, 2017. Norma the second to the youngest child of Emanual Martin Hammer and Hulda Julia Warma Hammer and widow of Reginald Claude Burrows was born August 24, 1929 in Wink, Texas. Norma devoted her life to the glory of the Lord and the celebration of music, touching thousands of lives through directorships of musical organizations spanning over a half century. Norma’s talents at a very young age took stage as a musical prodigy on both piano and flute. As a director and music teacher Norma would spread the joy and beauty of the special language of music to generations and beyond. Norma never missed an opportunity to challenge herself or those that would join her in finding new ways to express the love and passion of music. It was music that brought her to the love of her life, husband Claude. Norma is survived by her children and grandchildren with whom she shared a bond that only could be founded in the grace of the Lord. The world will miss Norma but those of us who were blessed by her devotion and talents will forever rejoice in the beauty of this amazing gift from God. The gift of Norma.
