Obituary for Irene Stella Kovar

Irene Stella Kovar
Irene Stella Kovar passed away December 7, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born on January 22, 1929 in Houston, Texas to her late parents Emil and Tony Kubin. She was a graduate of Reagan High School. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Spring Oaks Garden and Hobby Club for more than sixty years. She was also a longtime member of the local sewing club. She also enjoyed travel, golf, hunting and fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Maxon Kovar; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Evelyn Kubin and daughter-in-law, Vicki Kovar. She is survived by her children, Warren Kovar and wife Carolyn, Karen Illian and husband Terry, Wayne Kovar, Wendel Kovar and wife Theresa; 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and nephews Charles and Stan Kubin and wife Becky.

Irene’s life will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Irene will be laid to rest beside her beloved Maxon at Woodlawn Garden of Memories following the services. Honoring Irene as pallbearers will be Kyle Kovar, Kurt Kovar, Del Frazee III, Michael Frazee, Brian Ashcraft, Shane Hackenberg and Nick Gaona.
