Obituary for Georgia Lee

Georgia Lee
Georgia Kasper Lee, 98, died peacefully at home on Dec. 7th. She was born to Clara Gallia and John Kasper on Aug. 8th., 1919 in Shiner Texas and grew up in Houston Texas.

On Jan. 1st. 1948, Georgia married the love of her life Harvey and they were happily married for 44 years. Georgia’s passing on Dec. 7th. would have been Harvey’s 94th. birthday. These two loved to dance at SOKOL Houston, SPJST club and the Bill Mraz dance hall.

In her early work career she was a manicurist and hair stylist in downtown Houston at the Ralph Rupley beauty salon. She was also a member of Phi Beta Fraternity, Chapter Alpha Epsilon in which she totally loved. She also enjoyed artistry from time to time in her home in which she turned out some beautiful paintings, some centered around the ocean, snow scenes & old cottage homes around a mountain stream. She also loved animals and was a lifelong supporter of the ASPCA animal foundation. She enjoyed talking about the past, from being raised thru the depression and to the current events that the great grandchildren were participating in school events today and the Saturday night polka show.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Jr., parents, John & Clara Kasper, sister, Alyce Burris and grandson, Calvin Montalbano. She is survived by sons, Sonny Montalbano & Ronnie Lee & wife Cheryl. Other survivors include Barbara Montalbano & grandchildren, Ricky, Allen & GiGi, and several great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Conlon & staff, Dr. Dempsey & staff, Dr. Shkedy & staff, Dr. E. Akintokunbo & staff, TAWL homecare & the Silverado hospice service & staff and the Sugar Land Methodist hospital staff for caring for Mrs. Lee.

*A special note of thanks to Georgia’s caregiver, granddaughter Julie Graves from the family-with loving thanks for the joyful companionship you brought to her over the last 10 days of her life and the relief to us that she was safely cared for when we were away from home.
**Also a very special thanks to Frank & Raquel Kreipe, (neighbors) for being so wonderful and caring for Georgia over the years.
***Special thanks to Wayne, Dee Dee & Natalie Stancell for sending all the beautiful special occasion flower arrangements thru the years.
****In lieu of flowers, send donations to ASPCA or American Cancer society.
