Kerry Gene Alford, 59, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 24, 2018 in Houston. Kerry is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary Alford. Left behind to share his memory are two brothers, Jerry and Gary Alford; three nieces, Kellie, Allison and Ashley Alford; his former sister-in-law, Connie Alford and his beloved friends and caregivers, Lisa Griggs and Colleen Compere. Finally, Kerry leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Born October 22, 1958 in Houston, TX, Mr. Alford will be fondly remembered for his incredible talent and love of music coupled with his ability to play many instruments including the piano and keyboard. Moreover, he was a good sketch artist and possessed a large collection of movie memorabilia. He was the former choir director at the Long Point Baptist Church, and many will remember his days as a singer at Faces, a popular nightclub in Houston that is now closed.
Graveside services will be two o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Northam officiating. Friends and family will gather at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 1:45 pm prior to convening at the graveside.
