Alice Sanchez, 83, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in Houston. Mrs. Sanchez was born June 14, 1934 in Houston, Texas to parents, Jesus and Jesusa Rincon and will be lovingly remembered as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Alice is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35-years, Eddie Sanchez and a son, Norman Sanchez. Left behind to cherish her memory are seven children: Edward Sanchez and wife, Lisa; Marilyn Fields and husband, Michael; Steve Sanchez; Cynthia Fuller and husband, Guinn; Elizabeth Nunez and husband, Samuel; Benjamin Sanchez and wife, Helga; and Michael Sanchez and his wife, Jennifer; two sisters, Angie Gonzales and Lena Ramirez, and two brothers, Vincent and Sammy Rincon.
Alice was a lifelong resident of Houston and dearly loved all Houston sports teams including the Astros, Oilers, Texans, Rockets and, maybe more than any, her beloved Houston Cougars. Her love for sports was evident early in her life, as she is the former captain of her 1954 Jefferson Davis High School Volleyball Team. “Grandma Alice” dearly loved her family, which was her life. Accordingly, her most loving and caring events were the many holiday meals cooking turkey and dressing dinners and making pot roast for the family.
Visitation is Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 11am until 1pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1pm. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Reverend Guinn G. Fuller and Reverend JJ Bourn, Jr. will officiate.
Alice Sanchez will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
