Obituary for David Draper

David Randolph Draper, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018 at his home in Cypress, Texas.
Born May 11, 1945 in Belleville, Illinois lovingly raised by his Mom and “Pop”.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Irwin and Willie Jane Kaesberg, and two brothers, Ralph and Jeff Draper.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47-years Karen, the light of his life, and his beloved son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Carole ; adored grandsons, Dylan and Luke; and four brothers, Dennis, Gary, Mike and Eric Draper. In addition, David leaves behind a host of cherished “in laws”, nieces and nephews plus many, many good friends from all over the world.
David and Karen loved to travel for work and fun. He had a great love for Scotland, the people of Angola, his friends and family; and will be remembered for all the many things he taught Richard, Carole, Dylan and Luke. It is now their legacy to share his kind spirit around the world. David was considered by all to be a man of high integrity who “never met a stranger” and will be fondly remembered as a wise teacher, greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. Faithful and compassionate, David was a caring friend to any and all whom he had ever met.
A visitation with family is planned for Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from ten o’clock in the morning until eleven o’clock in the morning. The funeral will then follow promptly at eleven o’clock at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Dan O’Dowd of St. Jerome Catholic Church will be the officiant.
As a proud member of the US Air Force, the family requests in lieu of flowers donations are made to Camp Hope - The PTSD Foundation of America,ptsdusa.org. Helping those who served our country would please David greatly.
