Obituary for George Groschke

George  Groschke
George Edward Groschke, 81, a native Houstonian passed away on June 19, 2018. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and a friend to many.
George was born and raised in the Heights. He graduated from Reagan High School before attending Texas A & M for a brief stint; he loved those Aggies. His first job was delivering newspapers on his bicycle. He worked for Big Three Industries for 13 years before going to work with his father and soon became a partner of McGowen Cleaners. He ran the business until he retired at 78 years old.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen Groschke, his sister, Kay Lightsey, and step-daughter Pamela Parrish. He is survived by his wife, Patty Groschke; daughters Vicki Eubanks, Becky Groschke, husband Gary; stepson, Patrick Parrish; grandchildren, Jay MacKinnon, wife Rebecca, James MacKinnon, wife Yesenia, Kevin Groschke, wife Roberta, Karen Groschke; and numerous great grandchildren and extended family members.
Pallbearers: Jay MacKinnon, James MacKinnon, Kevin Groschke, Joel Lightsey, John Graham and Danny Robertson.
Visitation is scheduled Tuesday, June 26th from 5:00-8:00pm and the service on Wednesday, June 27th at 11:00am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, TX, 77055. Memorials may be made to Boys and Girls Country, 18806 Roberts Rd, Hockley, TX, 77447.
