The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Betty Jean Woods Heathcott can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

mischeif managed

My three sisters and I grew up together in Spring Branch.  Some of the best times in my young life as a child were spent with B J and her mom and dad and brother watching "Weird" on Saturday late night TV while our folks played cards and drank coffee. My three sisters and I adored her and it was a full house when our "brood" came for BBQ.  Betty Jean was always full of mischeif and we enabled her on numerous occassions to prank her brother.  Our families would get together for softball games in her yard, played volleyball, badmitton, and the sometimes dangerous croquet games that turned into polo wher B J was bonked in the head.  We were allowed to be just kids having loads of fun and B J was always exciting and full of ideas to turn an otherwise dull afternoon or uneventful sleepover into total chaos. I learned that it was okay to be adventurous and daring and push the limits and forge ahead.  My heart aches that I did not tell you more that I love you and my prayer is that you will always, always be remembered  by your family and friends for the beautiful soul that you are.
